I’m looking to dive into the MS-CANBUS system on my Mach-e and I know the wires are hanging out under the center console. But I’m hoping there’s a less of a hassle spot to get to them. Any chance you’ve got some tips for a better spot to tap in? Appeciate it!

Hey, seriously, stay away from messing with the CAN bus. If you connect to it, you could end up causing all sorts of annoying noise and interference that messes with your car’s network. This might make your ride act all weird and unpredictable. Plus, fiddling with it could keep your car running longer than it should, which might just kill your 12V battery. So save yourself the hassle and leave it alone!

Why would you tap it in??

You're right, the MS-CAN bus wires are accessible under the center console of the Mach-E, but it's not the most convenient location. Tapping in there can be a bit fiddly. Unfortunately, there isn't a universally agreed-upon "easier" spot that's guaranteed to work on all Mach-Es due to variations in wiring and model years.

Proceed with extreme caution while exploring alternative access points because the risk of damaging your Mach-E's electronics is real.
