Wil Hardwiring Dash Cam Kill My Battery?

I’m looking to hardwire my Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2, but I’m a bit worried about the battery drain with parking mode on. Has anyone gone down this road without hooking up an external battery?

I tried hardwiring a dash cam without an external battery, thinking I'd be fine. Woke up the next morning, and my car was basically a giant paperweight! Had to get a jump start, so lesson learned, parking mode can really drain your battery.
