I’m about to lose it over this crazy brake noise on my Mach-E. It’s super loud and seriously embarrassing! I’ve tried the whole shifting into neutral while slamming on the brakes thing, but no luck. Anyone else dealt with this nightmare or got any fixes? I’m getting pretty fed up!

I had that happen to me too. Turns out, it was just a tiny rock that got wedged between the rotor and the dust shield. Totally a pain in the ass, but you might wanna check that out.

I don’t think there’s a flaw here. It’s more about how regenerative braking works, so the pads don’t get used much. When they get wet, they can rust. It’s up to the owner to keep an eye (and ear) out for it and deal with it if needed. In my experience, as long as the pads stay dry, you won’t hear anything for a long time.

Neutral slam trick is a common one but it doesnt always work especially if it's not just surface rust. It could be anything from glazed pads to a warped rotor or even just some debris stuck in there. A loud and persistent noise like that warrants a trip to the dealer. They'll be able to properly diagnose the issue and get it sorted. Don't just keep driving it and hoping it goes away, it could get worse, or even be a safety issue. Plus, you paid for a quiet, smooth EV, you shouldn't have to deal with embarrassing brake noises!
