I recently had to replace the rear drive unit on my Tesla Model Y. While waiting for the repair, I rented a Honda Civic. However, I've encountered some issues with my extended warranty coverage.
Ford ESP, which covers my Tesla, initially denied coverage for the rental, even though they had covered a non-Ford rental just last month. After contacting Ford BEV, they agreed to cover a second rental, this time a Ford Edge.
The confusing part is that my contract doesn't specify that the rental vehicle must be a Ford. In fact, it mentions coverage for "competitive makes." Despite this, Ford Protect is still paying for the Ford rental, even though I'm the one paying the charges.
I'm planning to speak directly to the service manager to address this issue and avoid any further confusion.
