Hey everyone, Our Mustang Mach-E is approaching its first anniversary with just under 10,000 miles on the clock. Overall, it’s been fantastic, only hiccup was a BCM replacement, which the dealer handled smoothly.

Recently, I got a notification on the Ford app recommending a regular 10k mile service. I’ve always been diligent about scheduled maintenance for traditional gas cars, but with an EV, I’m a little unsure. It’s not like there’s an oil change involved, and I wonder if this service is mostly a check-up that ends up just costing money without much real benefit.

Has anyone else done their 1-year service? What did it involve, and was it worth it? Would love to hear some opinions before I decide whether to schedule it.

I was skeptical at first, too, because EVs are so low-maintenance compared to ICE cars. But after my first service, I was glad I took the Mach-E in. For one, they caught a small alignment issue early (tire rotation revealed uneven wear), and the tech confirmed all my software and module updates were good to go. With EVs, those updates can significantly improve efficiency, range, and even driving behavior, so that alone made it worth it for me. If you’re on the fence, ask the dealer for a detailed checklist of what they’ll do, most are happy to explain, and then you can decide if it’s worth the trip.
