Just had my firs Macht service interval done at the dealership. While the tire rotation was straightforward, I was surprised by the cost of reprogramming the keys. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I also had them look into a TSB that applies to my vehicle, but they couldn't start it on the same day. Any tips on how to ensure a smooth process for the TSB?

The unexpected costs were a bit of a shock, I spent a total of $96.84.

How many hours did it take to finish solving the TSB? From what I know, it only takes minutes to finish reprogramming it.

That’s a surprising cost for a first service! Tire rotations should be pretty standard and low-cost, but the key reprogramming feels like an unexpected upsell unless there was an actual issue. For TSBs, I’d recommend asking your dealership to bundle it with your next scheduled visit if it’s not urgent. That way, you’re not making multiple trips or wasting time.

I wouldn't be surprised by their cautious approach. If they haven't performed that specific procedure or TSB before, it's understandable they'd want to avoid potential delays and the need for a loaner car.

I'm curious to see how long the process takes. Unfortunately, I couldn't reschedule until the 26th due to work commitments. With my 9 AM appointment, they have the entire day to work on it.
